Products Description of Inositol CAS#87-89-8

Myo-Inositol, also known as cyclohexanol, hexahydroxycyclohexane, cyclohexitol, and inositol, is a member of the B vitamin family. Due to the different orientations of hydroxyl groups relative to the ring plane, it exists in nine isomeric forms, including seven non-optically active isomers and two optically active forms (left-handed and right-handed).

In nature, Myo-Inositol is widely present in biological tissues in both free and combined forms and is a common component of animal and plant cells. It can be produced by microorganisms in the digestive tract and plays a role in carbohydrate and lipid metabolism. In animals, it primarily exists in the form of phosphatidylinositol and is found in high concentrations in tissues such as the brain, myocardium, and skeletal muscle.

Product Application of Inositol CAS#87-89-8

Inositol is an essential vitamin involved in lipid metabolism in the body. It can promote the absorption of vitamin preparations and lipid-lowering drugs, enhance fat metabolism and cell growth in the liver and other tissues, and is used as an auxiliary ingredient in the treatment of fatty liver and hyperlipidemia.

Inositol is widely applied in food and feed additives, and is commonly added to feed for fish, shrimp, livestock, and poultry, with a recommended dosage of 350–500 mg/kg.

It is also extensively used in medicine, chemical industries, and food applications. Inositol has applications in the treatment of liver disorders, vascular sclerosis, and other conditions, and can serve as a raw material for high-end cosmetics with significant economic value.
