Calcium hypochlorite is a highly efficient bleaching agent with excellent storage stability, remaining undecomposed after more than 200 days of storage at room temperature. It is primarily used for bleaching cotton, linen, chemical fibers, pulp, and starch.

It is also widely applied for the disinfection and sterilization of drinking water and swimming pool water, as well as for mildew prevention and preservation during leather storage. In the papermaking industry, it is mainly used for pulp bleaching, while in the textile industry, it is applied for bleaching cotton, linen, and silk fiber fabrics.

Additionally, calcium hypochlorite is used for the sterilization and disinfection of urban and rural drinking water, swimming pools, and other water systems. In the chemical industry, it serves in acetylene purification and the production of chloroform and other organic chemical raw materials. It can also be used as a wool shrink-proofing agent, deodorizing agent, and for other specialized applications.
