Toluenediamine (TDA) is an aromatic diamine organic compound with the chemical formula C₇H₁₀N₂. It appears as a colorless to pale yellow crystalline powder or needle-shaped crystals and gradually turns dark purple or black when exposed to air and light. The melting point is 97–99°C for the 2,4-isomer and 88–96°C for industrial mixtures, while the boiling point is 283–285°C.
TDA is soluble in water, ethanol, and ether, with a water solubility of approximately 50 g/L at 25°C. It is mainly used as a raw material for the synthesis of toluene diisocyanate (TDI).

Applications
Primarily used as a raw material for the synthesis of TDI and as an initiator for polyether production. Polyether polyols prepared using TDA as an initiator can produce foams with a uniform and fine cell structure, helping improve thermal insulation performance and low-temperature dimensional stability.
Used as an epoxy resin curing agent and as an intermediate in dye production.
Used in the synthesis of aromatic diamine curing agents for polyurethane elastomers and epoxy resins, including dimethylthiotoluenediamine (DMTDA) and diethyltoluenediamine (DETDA).
