Product Details

Products Description of Polyurethane CAS#9009-54-5

Polyurethanes are prepared using a variety of isocyanates, including tolylene diisocyanate (TDI), hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI), and dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate (HMDI). Most of these isocyanates are low-viscosity liquids at room temperature, while 4,4′-diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) exists as a crystalline solid.

Compared with aliphatic isocyanates, aromatic isocyanates exhibit higher reactivity and are widely used in the production of polyurethane foams, coatings, and elastomers. In addition, the cyclic structures of aromatic and alicyclic isocyanates enhance the molecular stiffness of polyurethane materials, contributing to improved mechanical properties.
